Each player gets six cards. Choose two to discard face down into the crib. The dealer gets the four-card crib as an extra hand. A shared starter card is then revealed.
If the starter is a Jack, the dealer immediately gets 2 points (his heels).
The non-dealer plays first. Players alternate putting down a card, adding its value to a running count that cannot exceed 31. Aces are 1; tens and face cards are 10.
Score 2 for 15, 2 for 31, 2/6/12 for pairs, triples and quads, and the length of any run of three or more. If neither can play, the last card scores 1 unless it made 31.
Count the non-dealer’s hand first, then the dealer’s hand, then the dealer’s crib. Add the starter to each four-card hand for scoring.
Each distinct combination worth 15 gets 2 points, each pair gets 2, and every longest run counts. Flushes are 4 or 5; the crib needs a full five-card flush. A Jack matching the starter suit earns 1 for nobs.
Players alternate dealing hands. The first player to reach 121 points, during pegging or counting, immediately wins. The scorekeeper also supports manual points when playing with physical cards.
Computer card choices use only its own hand and visible pegging cards. No peeking at your cards or pre-arranged decks.
